Do I have to have a breath alcohol ignition interlock device (BAIID) in my car?

If you have more than one conviction, you will have to have a BAIID for at least year and a day, whether you get your full license back or a restricted driving permit. If you have more than two DUI arrests within ten years of each other, and lost your ability to drive on both of them, you will have to have a BAIID in your car while you are driving on a restricted driving permit, but not if you get your license reinstated (the usual case is you get a first DUI where your license is suspended, and get court supervision, so your license isn’t revoked, then, within 10 years get a second DUI and get convicted). In other situations you can get a restricted driving permit you do not need a BAIID. It all depends on your driving record, and the whole situation is complicated. I can answer your questions and help guide you through the process.
