Being convicted of DUI charges and spending some time in jail would be considered significant events for most Illinois residents. In fact, most people would not want to go through that experience again and may even vow to not repeat it. However, a Washington Park man has been arrested for alleged drunk driving, making it the third time he has faced DUI charges.

According to the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department, a 37-year-old man was stopped by officers when they suspected him of speeding. He was given a field sobriety test, where he showed a level of 0.115. The legal limit is .08. Upon his arrest, officers apparently discovered that his license had been revoked in conjunction with a prior DUI conviction. Evidently, the man was also facing a bank robbery charge for an incident in 2017.

The driver was charged with driving with a revoked license as well as felony subsequent DUI. He is being detained in the St. Clair County Jail with a bond set at $50,000. Court records show that the man had convictions of DUI in 2005 and 2006. From 2003 to 2018, documentation states that he had been charged with driving without a license or driving with a revoked license on nine different occasions.

Someone facing drunk driving charges may not know where to turn for help. An Illinois criminal defense attorney can quickly become a trusted ally during the legal proceedings. An attorney will evaluate the situation, consider any evidence in the case and present the strongest defense possible on behalf of the client. A defense team will work to get life back to normal as quickly as possible for a client.
