The constant flow of drug traffic is a significant issue in many areas across the country. Officers within law enforcement execute searches on a regular basis with the intent of reducing drug flow. Individuals who are the subject of such a process are often subsequently accused of drug-related crimes. Two men in Illinois were recently accused of multiple drug charges involving the sale of heroin.
Police claim to have received information from concerned individuals in relation to the alleged sale of heroin in the area. The first man was arrested during a routine traffic stop. Authorities proceeded to search the vehicle and allegedly uncovered several small bags of heroin, along with a lesser amount of cocaine and various drug paraphernalia.
The following day, authorities arrested the other man after executing a search warrant at a local residence, where they claim to have found over 3,000 grams of heroin and materials for packaging. Both individuals apparently remain in custody, and both stand accused of multiple charges in relation to their arrests, some of which are felony charges. If convicted, they would likely face a prolonged prison term.
A conviction for drug charges of this nature can have a drastic impact on a person’s future. Individuals who are facing such charges often speak with a defense attorney for guidance throughout the process. An attorney in Illinois can advise a client of the possible consequences he or she may face, and assist in forming a strategy with the intent of challenging the charges and obtaining the most favorable outcome achievable.
